Arriving at Johannesburg’s O.R. Tambo airport feels like a little upbeat to what’s going on in the country before actually venturing out onto its somewhat chaotic highways. My previous arrival two years ago was a step into a giant Samsung commercial. Blackberry was still going strong. A reminder that the lay of brand land is different here. This time round the Koreans are a little more downtoned and it’s a great wall of Bank of China commercials that greet one when stepping off the plane.
